" My intent as a painter and a printmaker of the landscape is to bring the viewer into my vision. I hope to assist in expanding the viewer's capacity to explore and interpret the many possibilities that exist in how we look at the world around us. The interaction of tone, color and light, the way they affect everything around us, as well as the simplicity of form that lies beneath detail are all factors which impact my work.

As a landscape artist, the maintenance of the natural environment is of great importance to me. I have worked in conjunction with the Nature Conservancy, the Darien Land Trust, Ambler Farm and the Department of Environmental Protection, to help bring forth interest and support for areas currently at risk due to development, pollution and the like.

One part of my personal vision is to bring images of 'nature undisturbed' to the viewer. I hope to embrace the viewer with a feeling of calm and timelessness. My goal, in particular, is to touch those previously unaware of the power nature has on the human spirit.

Of equal importance to me is the nature of the process of making art. I work in a variety of media, sometimes combining media in such a way as to highlight the inherent qualities of each individual technique. I strongly believe in the constant experimentation of materials and technique, not only to broaden my options as an artist, but to avoid a comfortable complacency in my work."
